Carnaval

Last week Friday I went to a carnaval party together with my friends to celebrate the end of winter time. I had to choose an outfit and for me it was very easy because I love the 1920's style. I didn't manage to dress exactly the same way as the ladies did in that period but I tried to do my best.

In the early 1920's experienced dramatic changes in fashion, the dresses were lighter and brighter and shorter than ever before. Hats, shoes, stockings, handbags, dresses and jewelry all came together in perfect harmony to create a unique and elegant style.

Women cut their hair short, bob style to fit under the popular hats. One of the first women to wear trousers, cut her hair and reject the corset was Coco Chanel. Probably the most influential woman in fashion of the 20th century, Coco Chanel did much to further the emancipation and freedom of women's fashion.

My manicure is inspired by my dress. I used a Romanian polish brand, Farmec (nr.4) which is a glossy nude shade and I finished it with a matte top coat by Rimmel. To match my dress I added the shiny black lines on the side of the nails to imitate the black leather effect.

Here is the dress and the little devil is one of my best friends!

In artificial light.
To make the design more classy and elegant I added a few black matte squared rhinestones. I liked the results I obtained and I have to tell you that the base polish it is really ultra resistant like the bottle sais, I am wearing this manicure from last Thursday and it looks perfect like the first day!

Do you celebrate carneval? If yes, what did you wear at the party?
